Last Updated: 14 August 2026

Welcome to FinLab.

FinLab is an educational and programme-management application operated by Unnayan Educational Services Pvt. Ltd. under its CforCommerce educational initiative.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of the FinLab mobile application, web-based interfaces and related services, content and functionality collectively referred to as the "FinLab Services".

Please read these Terms together with the FinLab Privacy Policy.

1. About FinLab

FinLab is designed to support financial literacy, commerce education and related educational programmes through digital learning, programme participation, attendance, assessments, progress tracking, certification and related functionality.

Depending upon the programme, FinLab may be used by:

  • Students;

  • Teachers;

  • Facilitators;

  • Lab Administrators;

  • Schools and educational institutions;

  • Programme administrators;

  • District or government authorities; and

  • Other persons authorised to participate in a FinLab programme.

FinLab is an educational platform. It is not a bank, financial institution, investment platform, insurance intermediary, lending platform or securities-trading service.

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account, accessing or using FinLab, an adult user confirms that they have read and agree to these Terms.

Where FinLab is being used by a child or student through a school, FinLab Centre or authorised educational programme, access to FinLab is subject to the applicable programme enrolment, institutional and consent or authorisation arrangements.

Where a parent, lawful guardian, school, institution, Lab Administrator or other authorised person facilitates a user's participation in FinLab, that person or organisation is responsible for acting within the authority available to them.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use FinLab.

3. User Accounts

FinLab may support different types of user accounts.

Self-Created Accounts

Certain authorised users may create their own FinLab accounts.

Users creating an account must provide information that is reasonably accurate, complete and current.

Student Accounts

Student accounts may be created or administered by an authorised:

  • Lab Administrator;

  • School;

  • Educational institution;

  • District programme;

  • Programme administrator; or

  • Other authorised FinLab representative.

Students may therefore receive account credentials without creating the account themselves.

The availability of functions within FinLab may differ depending upon the user's account type and role.

4. Account Information

Users must not knowingly provide false, misleading or unauthorised information to FinLab.

Where a user's information changes or is found to be incorrect, the user or relevant authorised administrator should arrange for the information to be corrected.

Information may include:

  • Name;

  • School or institution;

  • Class or grade;

  • Age or date of birth;

  • Gender;

  • Email address;

  • Mobile number; and

  • Other information required for programme administration.

Users should not create multiple accounts to circumvent programme requirements, attendance rules, assessments or other controls.

5. Account Security

Users are responsible for keeping their FinLab login credentials secure.

Users must not:

  • Share passwords or authentication credentials with unauthorised persons;

  • Allow another person to use their account for attendance or assessments;

  • Attempt to access another user's account;

  • Impersonate another student, teacher, administrator or user; or

  • Attempt to bypass FinLab's authentication or security mechanisms.

If a user believes that their account has been compromised, they should notify the relevant Lab Administrator or FinLab support team promptly.

FinLab may require password resets, additional authentication or other security measures where necessary to protect an account or the platform.

6. Attendance and Check-In

FinLab may provide attendance and check-in functionality for educational programmes.

Attendance may involve QR-code scanning and use of the user's approximate location at the time of check-in.

Approximate location is used only when the user performs an attendance or check-in function.

FinLab does not require precise location or background location tracking for this purpose.

Attendance Must Be Genuine

A user must only record attendance for themselves unless expressly authorised to perform attendance administration for others.

Users must not:

  • Mark attendance on behalf of another participant;

  • Ask another person to check in on their behalf;

  • Share attendance QR codes for the purpose of creating false attendance;

  • Use screenshots, copied QR codes or similar methods to circumvent attendance procedures;

  • Manipulate, falsify or spoof device location;

  • Attempt to bypass location-based attendance verification;

  • Alter attendance records without authorisation; or

  • Otherwise create a false record of participation.

Where attendance irregularities are identified, FinLab or the relevant programme administrator may review, correct or invalidate the affected attendance record.

Repeated or deliberate misuse may result in restriction or suspension of the user's account.

7. QR-Code Functionality

FinLab may use the device camera for scanning QR codes associated with programme functions.

Users should scan only QR codes authorised for use within the relevant FinLab programme.

Users must not:

  • Copy or distribute restricted FinLab QR codes for unauthorised use;

  • Modify or reproduce programme QR codes for fraudulent purposes;

  • Create counterfeit FinLab QR codes;

  • Use QR codes to manipulate attendance or programme records; or

  • Attempt to use the QR system to gain unauthorised access to FinLab functionality.

8. Learning Activities and Assessments

FinLab may include:

  • Educational modules;

  • Learning activities;

  • Quizzes;

  • Assessments;

  • Questionnaires;

  • Baseline and endline assessments;

  • Feedback;

  • Progress tracking; and

  • Other educational exercises.

Users should complete assessments and learning activities in accordance with the instructions provided.

Where an activity is intended to assess an individual user's knowledge or understanding, another person should not complete the assessment on that user's behalf.

FinLab may use assessment results and programme information to measure learning outcomes, programme effectiveness and participant progress.

9. Progress and Completion Records

FinLab may maintain records relating to:

  • Activities undertaken;

  • Sessions attended;

  • Modules completed;

  • Learning progress;

  • Assessment outcomes;

  • Programme milestones; and

  • Certification eligibility.

Progress displayed in FinLab is based upon the information available to the system and applicable programme rules.

Where an error or discrepancy is identified, FinLab or an authorised programme administrator may review and correct the relevant record.

10. Certificates

FinLab may issue or facilitate certificates for completion of specified programmes, modules or activities.

Eligibility for a certificate may depend upon requirements such as:

  • Attendance;

  • Completion of specified modules;

  • Assessments;

  • Programme participation; or

  • Other criteria communicated for the relevant programme.

A FinLab certificate represents participation, completion or achievement within the programme stated on the certificate.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, a FinLab certificate should not be interpreted as a formal academic degree, statutory qualification, professional licence, financial-services qualification or guarantee of employment or admission.

FinLab may refuse, withdraw, correct or invalidate a certificate where it was issued as a result of:

  • False attendance;

  • Impersonation;

  • Manipulated programme records;

  • Fraudulent assessment activity;

  • Incorrect account information;

  • Technical or administrative error; or

  • Other material violation of programme requirements.

11. Educational Purpose and Financial Information

FinLab provides educational content relating to financial literacy, commerce and related subjects.

Examples, simulations, activities, calculations, case studies and other content provided through FinLab are intended primarily for learning and educational purposes.

Nothing in FinLab should be treated as personalised:

  • Investment advice;

  • Financial advice;

  • Tax advice;

  • Legal advice;

  • Credit advice;

  • Insurance advice; or

  • A recommendation to buy, sell or enter into a particular financial product or transaction.

Users should obtain appropriate professional advice before making real-world financial, legal, tax, investment, insurance or credit decisions where such advice is required.

12. Notifications

FinLab may send notifications relating to matters such as:

  • Learning progress;

  • Upcoming programme activities;

  • Reminders;

  • Incomplete modules;

  • Module completion; and

  • Certificates.

Users may control notification permissions through their device settings.

Disabling notifications may result in the user not receiving certain reminders or alerts, but should not by itself terminate the user's FinLab account.

13. Permitted Use

Users may use FinLab only for lawful, authorised and educational or programme-related purposes.

Users must use the platform in a manner consistent with:

  • These Terms;

  • Applicable programme instructions;

  • School or institutional requirements;

  • Falsify programme records;

  • Cheat in assessments;

  • Obtain certificates through misrepresentation;

  • Gain unauthorised access to accounts, databases or systems;

  • Introduce viruses, malware or harmful code;

  • Probe, scan or test system vulnerabilities without authorisation;

  • Circumvent technical restrictions or security measures;

  • Extract data through unauthorised automated means;

  • Scrape or systematically download FinLab content;

  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive source code except where expressly permitted by applicable law;

  • Copy, reproduce or commercially exploit FinLab content without permission;

  • Use FinLab intellectual property to create competing educational materials, applications or services;

  • Upload unlawful, harmful, abusive or infringing material; or

  • Use FinLab for any fraudulent, unlawful or unauthorised purpose.

15. Intellectual Property

Access to FinLab does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to the user.

Users are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use FinLab for authorised educational and programme purposes.

Without prior written permission, users may not reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, license, commercially exploit, adapt or create derivative works from protected FinLab materials except where such use is expressly permitted.

Users may provide information through FinLab including:

  • Assessment responses;

  • Feedback;

  • Survey responses;

  • Programme information;

  • Support requests; and

  • Other information submitted through available features.

The user retains any rights they may have in original material submitted by them.

  • Provide the FinLab Services;

  • Administer educational programmes;

  • Evaluate programme outcomes;

  • Provide support;

The Privacy Policy should be read together with these Terms.

FinLab may process information including identity details, educational information, attendance information, assessment information, programme progress and certificate information.

FinLab may also access the device camera for QR-code scanning and approximate location when the user performs attendance/check-in, as described in the Privacy Policy.

18. Student and Child Users

FinLab may be used by children and school students.

Student accounts may be created or managed through authorised schools, Lab Administrators or programme administrators.

Children should use FinLab only as part of an authorised programme and in accordance with applicable parental, guardian, institutional or other consent or authorisation requirements.

FinLab may introduce additional age-appropriate protections, consent procedures or restrictions where required.

Children should not use FinLab to communicate personal information beyond what is reasonably requested for authorised programme participation.

19. Responsibilities of Lab Administrators and Institutions

Lab Administrators, schools and other authorised programme administrators may be given additional access and responsibilities.

An authorised administrator must:

  • Use administrative access only for legitimate programme purposes;

  • Maintain the confidentiality of administrator credentials;

  • Create or manage accounts only for authorised participants;

  • Take reasonable care to ensure information entered into FinLab is accurate;

  • Avoid accessing student information without a legitimate programme purpose;

  • Not disclose user information to unauthorised persons;

  • Promptly report suspected unauthorised access or security incidents; and

  • Follow applicable programme, privacy and institutional requirements.

Administrative privileges may be restricted or withdrawn where they are misused.

20. District and Programme Reporting

FinLab may generate reports relating to programme implementation, participation, attendance, assessments, completion and outcomes.

Authorised CforCommerce personnel may access such information for programme administration and reporting.

Where FinLab is implemented under a district, government, CSR-supported or other institutional programme, relevant information may be provided to authorised programme authorities where necessary for legitimate purposes such as:

Where appropriate, reports may use aggregated or non-identifiable information.

21. Third-Party Services

FinLab may rely upon third-party technology providers for functions such as:

  • Database and backend services;

  • Hosting;

  • Analytics;

  • Authentication;

  • Security; and

  • Technical infrastructure.

FinLab currently uses services including Supabase and Google Analytics.

The availability or performance of certain FinLab functions may therefore depend partly upon third-party systems and internet connectivity.

Use of third-party services is also subject to the applicable terms and privacy practices of those providers.

22. Availability of FinLab

We aim to keep FinLab reasonably available and functional.

However, uninterrupted or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed.

FinLab may occasionally be unavailable because of:

Users may request deletion of their FinLab account and associated personal information in accordance with the FinLab Privacy Policy and FinLab Account & Data Deletion process.

Where a student account has been created or managed by a Lab Administrator, school, district programme or other authorised institution, a deletion request may require verification and coordination with the relevant authorised party.

Certain information may continue to be retained where reasonably necessary for legal, security, certification, programme-record or other applicable requirements.

Deletion of an account may result in loss of access to:

  • Attendance history;

  • Learning progress;

  • Assessment history;

  • Programme records;

  • Certificates accessible through the account; and

  • Other account-linked services.

Account deletion may not be reversible once completed.

26. Accuracy of Information and Educational Content

Reasonable efforts are made to provide accurate educational and programme information.

However, educational content, examples, calculations, regulatory references or other information may be updated as curricula, practices, laws, programmes or educational requirements change.

Errors identified in FinLab may be corrected without prior notice.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where such limitation or exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

FinLab may occasionally provide links or references to third-party websites, resources or services for educational or informational purposes.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, the inclusion of an external link does not mean that FinLab controls or endorses the external service.

Users should review the terms and privacy practices of external services before using them.

These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in:

  • FinLab functionality;

  • Educational programmes;

  • Legal or regulatory requirements;

  • Technology;

  • Security practices; or

  • Operational requirements.

The latest version will be published through the FinLab application and/or CforCommerce website with the updated effective date.
